Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and the mailing address you enter at sign-up, and your profile picture if you sign in with Google. Your address is stored privately in your profile and isn't shown to anyone or shared.
- Journal data: trading accounts, trades, notes, tags, setups and screenshots you add or import.
- Technical data: sign-in session cookies and standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To provide the journal, keep your account secure, respond to support requests and improve the service. We also compute anonymous, aggregated statistics across all journals (for example, the share of meme coin traders who were profitable in a month) to understand and improve smart.trader. These never include your name, email or individual trades. We do not sell your personal data or your trading data, and we don't share your journal with prop firms.
Who processes it
We use Supabase (database, authentication and file storage) and Vercel (hosting). Public pages embed TradingView widgets for market prices and the economic calendar; these load from TradingView, which may set its own cookies under its privacy policy. [Add analytics or email providers here if used.] They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
Who can see your journal
Only you. Access is restricted at the database level so each account can read only its own rows. Screenshots are stored privately and served through short-lived links.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. [Describe any analytics or affiliate tracking cookies here and add a consent banner if required in your users' jurisdictions.]
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. Deleting your account in Settings permanently removes your journal and screenshots. Backups are overwritten within [period].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Use the export and delete tools in Settings, or contact [support email].
